Collected Materials for Designs of the World’s Plants is one volume of the three-volume Collected Materials for Designs of the World, published by Gihodo in 1952. Originally two volumes of the eight-volume Practical Collection of Designs and Materials, published by Atelier Publishing in 1933, it is a comprehensive design resource featuring botanical designs from diverse periods and regions. The book contains over 1,800 designs, arranged in kana syllabary order by plant name, with information on their sources, periods, and regions. This shows how the same plants have been depicted in different ways across times and cultures.
