⑮Decorative plant & flower studies

This is an album of botanical prints by the Scottish artist Jeanie Foord. The plants depicted are mainly familiar species such as roses, lilies, dayflowers, and ground cherries, as in Hisui’s Album of Hundred Flowers, known for featuring “only common plants.” The book’s structure is also the same, with each set consisting of color prints, silhouette prints, and descriptions, and the experience of looking through it is similar to flipping the pages of the Album of Hundred Flowers. It is unclear when Hisui acquired this book, but he may have used it as a reference when creating his own flower album.
