Stretching off the south end of mainland Kagoshima are numerous coral reef islands known as the Nansei Islands. Here is a re-creation of all the underwater environments of the islands, with a focus on Amami Oshima. Coral is a living creature that creates nutrients from sunlight inside its body. Those nutrients are also released into the water which supports the life of other creatures in the surrounding area. The complex branches also allow small fish a place to hide. Surely, the beauty of the sea is a gift from the coral. Clownfish and spotted garden eels are just two of the popular creatures you can find here.
