From Water to Land: The World of Amphibians
In ancient times, some fish moved onto land and evolved into amphibians. They changed from gill respiration to lung respiration and from fins to limbs, but they could never completely leave the water. Frogs, newts, salamanders, and many other amphibians can be seen in the water's edge.

Poison dart frogs: Jewels of the rainforest
Poison dart frogs are small frogs that inhabit the tropical rainforests of Central and South America, and are known as the "jewels of the rainforest" for their beautiful coloration. Their vibrant reds, yellows, and blues give them a striking presence. There is a secret to this coloration. Poison dart frogs have a strong toxin in their skin, so their bright colors are a warning to their surroundings that "I am poisonous."
The local indigenous people sometimes used its potent poison for hunting. It is said that the frog got its name, "poison dart frog," because they coated the tips of their arrows with the poison before using them for hunting. Today, the components of the poison dart frog's venom are being studied and are being used in the medical field.
