There are 2 historic men who are loved by the people of Japan:

These 2 men lived during the same time.
These two figures are essential when talking about the revolution of Japan, Around 1850, foreign countries started making demands.
The samurai of the countryside were unsatisfied with the old tendencies of the government.
However, to express their opinions to the government, they needed to create opposition that'd be seen as a threat.
That's when Sakamoto Ryoma brought the powerful Kagoshima and Yamaguchi areas together to form an alliance.
The bond between Kagoshima and Sakamoto Ryoma grew strong and he was invited by the samurai of Kagoshima to bring his newly married wife to visit Kagoshima.
The couple spent about 3 months in Kagoshima, enjoying their travels around Kirishima's hot springs and other places.
After that, they reported the success of their alliance scheme to the emperor, and were able to overthrow the government without bloodshed.
From then on, Ryoma and his wife’s trip to Kagoshima became known as the first honeymoon in Japan.
