Sugou Kuruwa (Sugou Bailey)
This bailey, east of the Honmaru (main bailey), is so named as the Sugou River (now called the Otogawa River) runs along its southern edge. The low-lying land was often subjected to flooding, and so during the Edo Period (1603-1868) was used for low ranking samurai residences.
