When parts of the Tatsuki moat were filled in, this horseshoe-shaped bailey located on the south eastern side of the central Honmaru (main bailey), was separated from the Sugou Kuruwa (Sugou bailey) .

The ishigaki stone walls facing the Tatsuki moat show traces of having been rebuilt over the years.
