Product features
Choshu Kurokashiwa was first locally raised in Yamaguchi prefecture; the chicken is produced based on, a protected species of animal, which has been bred since long ago in Yamaguchi prefecture. The meat of the chicken is moderately chewy and juicy; the more the meat is chewed, the tastier it becomes. It has no odor, tastes delicious, and contains much inosinic acid that is a palatable ingredient. The breast meat and tenderloin of the chicken contain much imidazole dipeptide, which is a functional ingredient helping brain and muscle to recovery from fatigue. We recommend simple recipes such as grilled chicken and mizutaki (Japanese style food cooked in a pot at the table) in order to taste the chicken flavor directly.

The chickens are fed with original combined local resources such as rice and rice bran for feed in addition to original mixed herbal feed without antibiotics or synthesized antimicrobial agents, and grown for more than 80 days in a relaxed atmosphere with a free range style. We thoroughly perform consistent sanitation control from production through processing and sale, and ship all of our chicken with a commitment to freshness and quality.

Introduction of production location
The main place for producing Choshu Kurokashiwa is Nagato city, located in northwest Yamaguchi prefecture. Nagato city has the beautiful Sea of Japan, clear skies and Kita Nagato Kaigan Quasi-National Park on the coast. The city is endowed with a quiet, beautiful and nature-rich environment. Nagato city is also famous for fresh seafood and five tasteful hot springs.
In this region, the fishery and marine product processing industry has been active for many years. Because fish lees containing animal protein, which is costly in poultry feed, can be easily obtained, chickens have been fed as a side job for farmers for years. The number of yakitori restaurants, where you can eat chicken and other food grilled on skewers, per 10 thousand people is the highest in Japan. We are proud of this and are now creating a local brand of Nagato yakitori and making it famous.
