Introduction of Fujisawa
Population of 441,547 (as of April 2022), and covering an area of 69.56 square kilometers.
Located approximately 50 kilometers from Tokyo.
Lying next to the Pacific Ocean, Fujisawa enjoys a warm and mild climate, meaning the area is pleasant to visit even during winter.
The charm of Fujisawa lies very much in its rich and varied nature which can be enjoyed all year round, from the blue seas surrounding Enoshima, to the wisteria flowers adorning the city.
Just a few steps from the fashionable shopping mall and other amenities that surround the modern station are the historic streets of Fujisawa. One of the fifty three stages along the Tokaido Road, this area was once a flourishing inn town astride the main highway between modern day Tokyo and Kyoto. Other historic attractions include Yugyo-ji Temple, which is the birthplace of the traditional Japanese Bon festival dance.
In addition, the northern part of Fujisawa is home to thriving agricultural and dairy businesses, and visitors can pick vegetables and fruits such as tomatoes, pears, and grapes all year round. There is also an industrial zone which is home to many automobile and parts factories. Fujisawa also has strong industrial-government-academia ties, with the city playing host to Keio University, Nihon University, the Shonan Institute of Technology, and Tama University campuses.

Enoshima Aquarium
Originally opened in 1954, this was Japan's first modern aquarium. In the same year, the aquarium launched a jellyfish breeding exhibit, and this became a permanent exhibit in 1973. The aquarium re-opened in 2004 following refurbishment. Recreating the diverse marine habitat of Sagami Bay, a school of 8000 sardines swarm majestically in the "Big Sagami Bay Tank". While enjoying the sea breeze, visitors can also see three species of sea turtle at "Sea Turtle Beach". In addition, the aquarium has two jellyfish breeding research exhibits (Jellyfish Fantasy Hall and Jellyfish Science) which boast over 60 years of experience.

Enoshima Yacht Harbor
The harbor was originally built as the yachting venue for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. On June 1st 2014, the new Yacht Clubhouse opened, and this 2-storey building features a wave-inspired roof design. Shonan Port is a pioneering public yacht harbor which hosts a number of yacht races each year, and has contributed greatly to the spread of yachting in Japan.
At present, around 1000 yachts are moored here. Following on from the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, the harbor has again been chosen as the venue for the sailing competition during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The Center Promenade has been built as an inclusive recreation area from where anyone can enjoy watching the yachts glide in and out of the harbor. In addition, adjacent to Shonan Port is a fishing area popular with anglers and which provides ideal sea fishing conditions.
