Tsukigase is famous for the production of Yamatocha tea, a specialty of Nara city, and for being "the home of ume (Japanese plums)."
The ume garden along the Satsukigawa River has more than 10,000 trees of red and white colored ume, and the view of the ume trees in full bloom seen from above is a marvelous sight.
From the historical sites to visit, to the Ryuo Waterfall and Tsukigase hot springs, there are many different ways to have fun here.

Approximately 80 minutes by bus from Kintetsu Nara Station, get off at the Tsukise-bashi bus stop

To Ume-no Sato Tsukigase Onsen
This is a colorless and transparent hot spring gentle on the skin that gushes up from 1,200 m underground. This hot water also has an effect on nerve and muscle pain. There is also a elevated observatory here.
Adult: 700 yen, children: 350 yen

Closed on the first and third Tuesday of every month (Not closed during the Ume Festival)
There is a shop selling souvenirs unique to Tsukigase and a restaurant with meals made using ingredients from Tsukigase in the facility. Fureai Market is found next to this. This is where fresh agricultural and forestry processed foods from around Tsukigase are sold.
