Accessibility Information of Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum

The Information counter provides information about exhibitions and using the Museum’s facilities, and takes requests for baby strollers and use of the breastfeeding room.

A magnetic writing pad is on hand for visitors with impaired hearing or speaking.

Visitors Requiring Wheelchairs

Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum is composed of an entrance area (Central Wing Lobby Floor[LBF], around which are placed an Exhibition Room (Special Exhibitions Wing), Citizen’s Galleries (Citizen’s Gallery Wing) and Auditorium (Interchange Wing).

A special elevator for wheelchairs is provided for going up and down between floors.

There are also wheelchair-friendly restrooms, an adult-size aid bed, and an ostomate-friendly universal restroom.

How to apply

Simply inquire at Information if you wish to borrow a wheelchair.

Wheelchairs are lent to visitors free of charge.

※ Wheelchairs are limited in number.

Reservations are not taken, so please use them as they become available.

※ There are wheelchair-friendly restrooms on each floor.

Please inquire at Information or with a nearby security guard.

Visitors with Small Children

Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum provides a breastfeeding room and warm water for milk.

Diapers can be changed in the breastfeeding room or in the universal restroom, which has a baby chair.
