“Tobira Project” in Action!

The Tobira Project is a social design project collaboratively run by the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum and the Tokyo University of the Arts.

By using museums as bases for interconnecting people, artworks and places, the project aims to design communities that bring together diverse people with diverse values.

It is the role of the Tobira, our “art communicators,” to cultivate this communal platform and to make museum visits a more enriching experience.

The Tobira consist of people over 18 years old from all walks of life, from businesspeople to teachers and students, freelancers, housewives and retirees. There are currently around 130 Tobira working with the project!

Tobikan’s Highlights too was produced through their activities.
