Mount Tomlauso

Mt. Tomuraushi is a magnificent peak with an altitude of 2,141 m that rises in the southern part of the Taisetsu mountain range in central Hokkaido. It is also selected as one of the 100 famous mountains in Japan by Kyuya Fukada.

The other day, when I visited Mt. Tomuraushi for the first time. Enter the Daisetsu mountain range from Daisetsu Kogen Onsen and stay overnight at Mt. Chubetsu refuge hut. The next morning, after four hours of walking toward the summit of Mt. Tomuraushi, I finally saw a signpost ahead. When I finally reached the top of the mountain, I forgot all the fatigue I had been feeling and climbed all at once.

When I was stunned and didn't know what had happened, a passing climber pointed further ahead and said, "Oh, it's been there for a long time, isn't it? The real Mt. Tomuraushi is over there." gave me

I was angry that it was a poor prank, but in the end I was able to laugh because I wondered when and by whom this signpost was built, and no matter how hard it was, there must be people who have free time.
