Mutual assistance within the community is important to minimize damage during disasters. Amagasaki City has established a system to provide a list of people who have difficulty evacuating on their own, such as the elderly and disabled, and who require special assistance in the event of a disaster, to supporters in their area, so that they can provide prompt assistance.
◆About the opening of welfare evacuation shelters Regular designated evacuation sites do not have adequate living environments for people who require special consideration in the event of a disaster, making life in evacuation shelters difficult. In order to accommodate these people, facilities that can ensure an environment suitable for use by people with special consideration, such as barrier-free access and heating and cooling, are designated as welfare evacuation shelters.
