YAMAYA, Mentaiko Maker's Recommendation: 【Delicious Hakata-ori Mentaiko】
We have been proud of and carefully maintaining our special & delicious sauce stock, named "Takumi-no-Tare*" uniquely developed for seasoning cod roe since our foundation back in 1974. Then, our cod roe were nicely seasoned in this sauce stock for as long as 168 hours, creating not so spicy but mild and gentle taste. Sold only in Kyushu Area, this item should be the nice Food Gift representing Kyushu Island for your family, friends or whoever, and you should not miss this Mentaiko. This item comes with a small sachet containing Takumi-no-Tare.

※Takumi-no-Tare: It's Yamaya's secret seasoning sauce stock, based on kelp from Rausu Area in Hokkaido, Japanese sake (from Kitaya, a brewer in Hakata) and blended red peppers, mixed with refreshing citrus fruit juice from Kyushu. Through many trials&errors, we developed this Tare and have carefully maintained this sauce stock for many years.

【How to Enjoy Delicious Hakata-ori-Mentaiko】
「Mentaiko」
・Put some on your rice, Eat them as a side dish with alcohols, etc.
・Bake them, and enjoy nice-flavored baked Mentaiko, etc.
「Takumi-no-Tare」
・Put this sauce on Mentaiko, add the sauce into pasta, fried rice or other dishes, or mix this intp mayonnaise to make Mentaiko-tasted dishes, etc.
