Resident Registration
The Resident registration (The Basic Resident Registration Network System) is the basis for your qualifications and rights, such as proof of residency, elections, compulsory education, National Health Insurance, and National Pension. If there is a change, a member of the household must report it within the notification period. Please note that a personal identification card (*) is required at the time of notification.

Family Register
Family register records important personal information such as birth, marriage, divorce, adoption/acknowledgement of a child, and death of the Japanese nationals. One can obtain a proof of a family register at the city hall of your legal domicile. In Urayasu, family register notifications are accepted 24 hours a day 365 a year. After office hours, the notifications can be accepted at the Central Maintenance Room, located on the 1st floor of the City Hall.

(*) In case of ID cards with a face photo such as driver's license, passport, My Number (individual number) card, Juki card, residence card, and special permanent resident certificate, submission of one ID is sufficient. However, in case of ID cards without a face photo, such as health insurance card, pension booklet, and student cards, submission of two IDs are required.

* Wide-area issuance of family register-related certificates is available only on weekdays when the office is open.
* Due to system maintenance, procedures related to My Number card cannot be processed on Sundays following the 3rd Saturday of every month. Only submission of application is accepted.

Garbage Disposal/Recycling
Urayasu City focuses its efforts on the collection of recyclable resources. Please sort them correctly and put them out between 7 to 8 a.m. on the collection day.
Designated garbage bags
Please dispose of combustible and non-combustible garbage in the city-designated garbage bags sold at supermarkets and convenience stores.
Combustible (burnable) garbage
Kitchen food waste, paper scraps, wood scraps, leather products, vinyl, rubber, plastic products, etc.
Note: Drain water from the kitchen food waste; flush the feces in toilet before disposing diapers.
Non-Combustible (non-burnable) garbage
Chinaware, glassware (including broken bottles), metallic objects, etc.
Note: For the safety of collectors, please wrap objects with sharp edges and cutting tools with paper.
Hazardous garbage
Batteries, fluorescent tubes, mercury thermometers, flammable materials (spray cans, gas cylinders, lighters, small rechargeable batteries,etc)
Note: Please put them in a transparent plastic bag. Please return button-type batteries in the collection box of recycling partner stores such as electric appliance stores.

Bicycle Parking Lots
Monthly passes are available. One can purchase passes up to 12 months (from April to March). All users must apply for the use of parking lots every year. Application process starts in January. If the number of applications exceeds the capacity, a lottery will be held. For more information, please consult with the Urayasu City homepage. Application forms are distributed at each bicycle parking lot as well. The application process for Shin-Urayasu Station 13th Bicycle Parking Lot (located inside Shin-Urayasu Station Plaza Il Mare) is different, so please apply directly at the facility.

Some payment slips with a barcode can be processed at a convenience store before the due date.
Preschool education and childcare facilities
Preschool education facilities include kindergartens, nursery schools, and Education and Care Preschool (Nintei Kodomoen). To use these childcare facilities, you need to apply for the city’s certification. Enrollment request is accepted throughout the year if there is a vacancy. However, for April admission, submission period is around October of the previous year. If you wish to enroll your child in a private kindergarten or an unlicensed childcare facility, please apply directly to each facility.
