The Gems tones of the Atlantic Ocean, Crisis of the Caribbean
The Caribbean is a sea of the Atlantic Ocean located south of the Gulf of Mexico. The sea is full of coral reefs, the total area of which is approximately 50,000km2. This means that about 30% of the coral reefs in the world are concentrated in the Caribbean Sea. The see is home to elkhorn corals, whose shape reminds us of deer antlers. In recent years, more and more coral reefs in the Caribbean Sea are bleaching due to abnormally warmer water temperatures. The increasing cases of coral bleaching is probably caused by the global warming.
