⑱Aquatic Plants at Lake Towada
Baikamo (Ranunculus nipponicus var. submersus)
The waters of Lake Towada are deep and unsuitable for most aquatic plants, but in the long shallows at Utarube, Ōkawadai, and a few other places, visitors can see clasping-leaf pondweed (Potamogeton perfoliatus), baikamo (Ranunculus nipponicus var. submersus), variable-leaf pondweed (Potamogeton heterophyllus), and senninmo (Potamogeton maackianus); among which the water-birds can often be seen feeding.
Baikamo also grows near the Makado bridge.
