⑬Climbing Hydrangeas
Climbing hydrangea (Hydrangea petiolaris)
A relative of the hydrangeas found in gardens
In this area, one may see climbing hydrangeas (Hydrangea petiolaris) creeping up the trunks of trees.
The woody vine relies on other trees for support as it grows, and large specimens can reach 50 cm in diameter.
It bears white flowers from June to July which grow in clusters large enough to see from afar.
