Model Cycling Course Using PiPPA (Cycle Share)

What Is PiPPA?

PiPPA is a bicycle sharing service that allows you to rent a bicycle easily at any time by registering with the dedicated PiPPA app. Users can rent or return a bicycle at any of the dedicated bicycle parking ports.

(1) Depart from the bicycle port in front of Izumisano Station (Il Salone Izumisano)

There is a dedicated bicycle port outside the Il Salone Izumisano pachinko parlor, which is a three-minute walk from Izumisano Station. Rent a bike here and let's cycle!

(2) Jozen-ji Temple

Built in 1683, the main hall of the temple is a registered tangible cultural property, and the seated statue of Amida Nyorai is the largest Buddha statue in the Senshu area.

(3) Kasuga Shrine

The main shrine building that stands today is believed to have been built in the mid-Edo period (around the 18th century). A summer festival is held to pray for bumper catches and a calamity-free summer, where bed-shaped portable shrines known as “futon daiko” are paraded through the streets.

Spot the Otafuku stone on the way

This small carving of Otafuku, the Goddess of Mirth, is easy to pass by without noticing. In Japan, Otafuku is known as a goddess who brings good fortune.

(4) Furusato Machiya-kan Museum

A townhouse built in the mid-Edo period (around the 18th century) as the location for a soy sauce business, the museum exhibits historical materials used in daily life, valuable cultural documents, and more. You can also go in and look around.

(5) Daishogun-yu Bathhouse

Built in 1936, the bathhouse was an indispensable facility for the community at a time when many families did not have a bath at home. The bathhouse is no longer open, but the building still retains its retro tiles, chimney, and exterior in their original forms.

Past and present, side by side

This is a place where the past—Sano Machiba—and the present—Rinku Town—exist side by side, giving a sense of temporal change. The area is home to a labyrinth of narrow, winding streets lined with houses of varying sizes.

(6) Open-Air Market

Izumisano Fishing Port is the prime fishing port of Senshu, which boasts the best catches in the whole of Osaka Prefecture. At the Open-Air Market, you can buy fresh seafood landed that day. On Saturdays and Sundays, you can grill and eat the seafood you buy from the open-air market at the adjoining BBQ facility.

(7) LOVE RINKu

The LOVE RINKu monument in Rinku Park was completed in 2018. Here you can take a romantic photo against the backdrop of the ocean and Kansai International Airport.

(8) Arrive at the Kanku Ice Arena port

Kanku Ice Arena, the endpoint of the cycling course, has a spacious rink measuring 60 by 30 meters, which meets the standards of the International Skating Union (ISU).
