How to Make Great Dashi (Soup Stock)
(1) Put one packet into a pot filled with water and heat.
(2) Once boiling, extract the flavor by simmering at a medium heat for three to four minutes.
*Please do not put a lid on the pot.
(3) Turn off the heat. Lightly squeeze the packet by pushing it against the edge of the pot with long chopsticks or similar and then take it out.
You can get basic dashi for about three to five people with one packet of Agoiri Katsuo Furidashi for approximately 800 ml of water.
Add one packet to 600 ml of water for osuimono (clear broth soup), oden (winter stew) and yosenabe (winter hot pot dish) and then season with a small amount of soy sauce. Add one packet to 400 ml of water for boiled food and then season with a small amount of soy sauce. Add one packet to 800 ml of water for miso soup and then season with a small amount of miso.
You should get around six to seven servings of miso soup with one packet.
