Tickets Information
Regular tickets can be purchased from station ticket offices and ticket vending machines.
The type of ticket you need depends on the type of train you want to use:

Types of Cars
Non-reserved seat does not specify the train or seat number.
Reserved seat specifies the date of travel, train, and seat number.
Green cars are a rank above reserved seating in ordinary cars.
Sleeper cars are cars that provide sleeping facilities.

ICOCA
ICOCA is a smart card that functions as a ticket. By charging your ICOCA card, you can automatically pay the fare for your journey simply by touching the card on the ticket gate. For more details, see the JR-WEST website.

"Charging" is the act of putting money into a smart card. Up to 20,000 yen can be added to an ICOCA card. ICOCA cards can be charged at ticket vending machines, recharge machines, and fare adjustment machines that accept smart cards.
If you want to refund your ICOCA, will take the 220 yen fee.
Touch your ICOCA against the card reader section of the automatic ticket gate.

Tickets for Overseas Visitors
Special tickets such as rail passes and ICOCA & HARUKA set tickets for overseas visitors with a "short-term stay" status of residence.
The Japan Rail Pass can be used on JR lines nationwide, while the JR-WEST Rail Pass, ICOCA & HARUKA, and other tickets can be used in the JR-WEST area.

If you purchase a JR-WEST RAIL PASS directly at a station or make an online reservation, purchases are limited to one rail pass per visitor per stay.
